Chernobyl

April 26, 1986, at 01 hours and 23 minutes, in Chernobyl the most devastating nuclear accident in history occurred. More than 130,000 people were evacuated in cities like Pripyat with 43,000 inhabitants were abandoned.

28 years later the area is still highly contaminated and uninhabited.

It has been rendered as an exclusion zone with a diameter of 30 km. In this area 200 people older than 50 years have returned to their homes. The city of Chernobyl is included in this zone and has a restaurant and active fire station. Children and pregnant women are forbidden in this area.

The second exclusion zone has a diameter of 10km from the reactor #4. This area is highly contaminated and impossible to live in as this is where the nuclear plant is found. Also found in this location is the city of Pripyat which before the incident had built an amusement park which had never even been inaugurated. Today you can visit this area but with security measures such as: not to drink or eat outside, not smoking, not touch anything, do not leave anything on the floor (bag, tripod...).
